The Philippines has yet to pick up a victory in the SEA VLeague, but fans are seeing a bright future for the women's national volleyball team.

In a seeming replay of last week's match vs Vietnam, the Philippines took set 2 against the squad in yellow. The Filipina spikers actually nearly took the back-and-forth third frame as well before the Vietnamese volleybelles regained their bearings just in time to fend of a spirited charge from the young Philippine squad. Vietnam ultimately won the match, 25-19, 25-27, 31-29, 25-14.

It was a much better performance for the Philippines after getting steamrolled in straight sets by regional powerhouse Thailand on Friday night.

NU Lady Bulldogs standout Alyssa Solomon was once again the star for the Philippines as she powered the Philippine side with her attacks, along with three straight blocks to help the national team win set 2.

With yet another spectacular showing, fans have started thinking that maybe Solomon could be hailed as Best Opposite Spiker this time around.

"Alyssa Solomon, beh pang international ka na!" another fan chimed in on X (formerly known as Twitter). Unlike in the Thailand match, Solomon had some help this time as UAAP Season 85 Second Best Middle Blocker Niña Ytang of the UP Fighting Maroons also came to play.

By set 3, NU's Cham Maaya also came to life and even extended the frame against Vietnam, 27-27.

"P***** i**, atin 'to!" she yelled as she celebrated a crucial point.

The Philippines will face Indonesia on Sunday for its last assignment in the SEA VLeague.
