Dwight Ramos is a pretty busy guy.
Dwight Ramos is just pure hustle and pure basketball.
Fresh off a stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup—and a victory on his birthday in Gilas' final game in the tournament—Ramos returned to Japan to train with his squad, the Levanga Hokkaido, in the Japan B.League.
And, just this Saturday, he helped the Levanga Hokkaido get a preseason victory over the Ibaraki Robots, 67-53. Ramos, of course, did Dwight Ramos things in this game, whether it was putting points on the board or making fine defensive plays, and everything in between. In short, Saint Dwight, as per his usual, just played winning basketball again.
Despite needing to focus on his committment to the Japan B.League, Ramos hasn't forgotten his Filipino roots at all. Not one bit. In fact, before leaving the Philippines, Ramos launched a training camp featuring his personal brand, which he unveiled just last June.
"WE ON TO SOMETHING," he posted on Instagram. "Huge thanks to everyone, players and coaches, who participated and helped put this all together! This is just the start of more camps to come in the future!"
This worthwhile initiative fittingly earned the respect of one pro baller, in particular: PBA lifer and all-around good guy Jared Dillinger.
"Whenever I see this type of stuff, makes me happy to see the young homie take time to build up our younger generation. Respect," he commented on Ramos' post about his camp.
Well, Ramos isn't called Saint Dwight for nothing. He just simply makes a positive impact on the court and off it.
