As the All-Star Games return to Okinawa, Dwight Ramos gets his *first* chance for the annual showcase, along with Kai Sotto, Carl Tamayo, and RJ Abarrientos.
The 2024 B.League All-Star is all set this weekend in Okinawa, and the Asia All-Stars are coming in full force for a second consecutive year.
Among the Filipino players in the Asia All-Stars lineup, Dwight Ramos leads the pack of first-timers as he’s set to play captain for the 17-strong group.
Dwight missed last year’s All-Star due to injury, and the Asia Rising Star Game was shelved altogether in 2022 due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.
As the All-Star Games return to Okinawa, Ramos gets his first chance for the annual showcase, along with Kai Sotto, Carl Tamayo, and RJ Abarrientos.
Other first timers include Lee Daesung, Chan Minkuk, Liu Junlu, Li Shenze, and Liu Chuanxing.
The Filipino imports completing the Asia All-Stars are Thirdy Ravena, Ray Parks Jr., Matthew Wright, Roosevelt Adams, Kiefer Ravena, and Greg Slaughter.
Yang Jaemin and Wang Weijia round out the squad.
Toyama’s AJ Edu is not listed in the lineup. The athletic Grouses forward has been out since mid November due to a meniscus injury and underwent surgery.
Last year, the Filipino imports combined for 15 three-pointers as the Asia All-Stars beat the B.League Rising Stars in Mito, 118-114.
Matthew Wright, Kobe Paras, Greg Slaughter, Jordan Heading, and Ray Parks Jr. all finished in double figures in that initial offering.
