While in Yokohama with the B-Corsairs, Kai Sotto averaged career-highs of 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds.
Kai Sotto could be on the market for a new team.
The Yokohama B-Corsairs announced Tuesday that their loan period with the 7’3” Filipino center has expired.
It can be noted that Sotto started the 2023-24 B.League season with the Hiroshima Dragonflies, his first team in Japan after coming over the previous season.
However, Kai never played his second year in Hiroshima due to his back injury. He was later signed by Yokohama on a loan from Hiroshima from December 2023 to the end of the current season.
After being officially introduced as a B-Corsair last December 28, 2023, Kai made his debut with the team two days later and eventually appeared in 34 games.
Sotto averaged career-highs of 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds. He also averaged 1.1 blocks per game.
While in Yokohama, Kai logged eight double-doubles and scored his career-high in points, a 28-point effort against Alvark Tokyo. His stint with the B-Corsairs likewise saw a budding tandem with league MVP Yuki Kawamura.
