Volleyball teams in UAAP Season 87 are put on notice after players from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) nabbed the Most Valuable Player award in both the women's and men's division of the 2024 V-League Collegiate Challenge.

Angge Poyos led the UST Golden Tigresses to the finals. She was also the top scorer of the women's division with 123 total points coming off 106 attacks, nine kill blocks, and eight aces.

The 20-year-old pride of Balilihan, Bohol ranked second in spiking with a 35.81% success rate, and placed sixth in the service department with an average of 0.28 per set. Poyos also figured as the second-best receiver with a 31.41% efficiency rate, and the tenth-best in digs with an average of 1.72 per set.

Joining Poyos in the V-League Supreme Team were teammates Regina Jurado as Best Opposite Spiker, Cassie Carballo as Best Setter, Em Banagua as Best Middle Blocker, and Bernadett Pepito as Best Libero.

Rounding out the awardees are Best Outside Spikers Wielyn Estoque of College of St. Benilde and Chen Tagaod of Far Eastern University, along with Best Middle Blocker Zamantha Nolaso of CSB.

As for the men's division, De Vega and the Golden Spikers settled for fourth place after losing to National University in the bronze match.

De Vega though was the second-best scorer with 122 points coming from 111 attacks, six blocks, and five aces. He also placed sixth in digging with 1.28 per set, and seventh in receiving via a 39.60% efficiency rate.

UST teammate Edlyn Colinares and Joshua Magalaman of De La Salle University were named Best Middle Blockers. Jelord Talisayan of Far Eastern University and Chris Hernandez of La Salle were hailed Best Outside Spikers.

Completing the cast are Best Opposite Spiker Dryx Saavedra of FEU, Best Setter Jerico Adajar, and Best Libero Menard Guerrero of La Salle.
