Kiefer Ravena and the Yokohama B-Corsairs scored a big win over defending B.LEAGUE champions Hiroshima Dragonflies, 85-73, at the Yokahama International Pool in the 2024-25 B.LEAGUE season on Sunday.

Ravena chipped in 13 points and two assists in 25 minutes as a starter to help the B-Corsairs hold on to victory, a nice bounce back after Yokohama lost by one point Saturday to the same team.

Gary Clark and Damien Inglis were the driving forces behind Yokohama’s scoring with 23 and 18 markers, respectively, but it was the Filipino import that scored the crucial baskets in the fourth quarter as they stymied Hiroshima.

Ravena scored or assisted in Yokohama’s last nine points in the ball game, keeping the Dragonflies at bay and helping the B-Corsairs improve to 9-15 in the year.

Elsewhere, Kai Sotto’s double-double was not enough for the Koshigaya Alphas as they lost to the Kyoto Hannaryz, 96-80, at the Koshigaya City Gymnasium.

Sotto had 18 points and 10 rebounds but couldn’t tow his team to victory as the Alphas lost the last three quarters despite leading by three, 24-21, at the end of the opening canto.

Yuta Okada’s 30-point explosion was pivotal for Kyoto to take the victory on the road.

Koshigaya thus dropped to 6-18 while Kyoto is at 13-11.

In the other games, AJ Edu had four points, two rebounds, and a block in the Nagasaki Velca’s 97-85 win over the Ibaraki Robots. They are now at an even 12-12 slate.

Three other Filipino imports absorbed losses to cap off weekend action.

Ray Parks Jr. had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in the Osaka Evessa’s 89-81 loss to the Chiba Jets. Osaka fell to 13-11.

Matthew Wright, for his part, scored nine points to go along with four rebounds, and two assists as the Kawasaki Brave Thunders lost to the Seahorses Mikawa, 97-65. Wright’s Brave Thunders are at 4-20.

Dwight Ramos had just two points and one rebound in the Levanga Hokkaido’s loss to the San-en NeoPhoenix, 84-79, as Hokkaido dropped to 9-15, losing both games to the top-ranked NeoPhoenix following a three-game win streak.
