Filipino Muay Thai fighter Islay Bomogao easily improved her record to 2-0 under the banner of Singapore promotion ONE Championship, as she scored a unanimous decision win over China’s Ran Longshu in ONE Friday Fights 93 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on Friday.

Bomogao, who made her debut in ONE Championship last year, trumped Longshu in a 101-pound catchweight Muay Thai bout which cemented her status as one of the country’s rising stars in the promotion.

The 24-year-old represented the Philippines well as the first homegrown Muay Thai fighter in ONE Championship, displaying grit and determination against Longshu.

Though beginning on the back foot as Longshu was aggressive in the opening round, Bomogao was able to gain her bearings and respond using her elbows in close combat.

Bomogao found her rhythm as the fight went on which forced her foe to go on the defensive.

The Filipina then continued to take advantage with straight right hands to Longshu’s body.

Save for a last minute rally from her Chinese foe, Bomogao was hardly unsettled in the latter moments of the bout.

While waiting for the judges score cards after three rounds of battle, Bomogao was confident in her victory before it was made official.

The Team Bagsik stalwart thus continued to make good on the hype surrounding her entry into ONE Championship.
