The VNS-Laticrete Griffins seek to force a decisive Game 3 as they battle the Savouge Spin Doctors in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference bronze medal series at the Philsports Arena in Pasig on Friday, April 4.

After dropping Game 1 in four sets, the Griffins aim to keep their podium hopes alive behind the leadership of CJ Segui, who delivered an all-around effort of 14 points and 13 excellent receptions in their previous match.

Segui, alongside key contributors Bryan Jaleco and Raymart Culabat, will need to elevate their game to counter Savouge’s offensive weapons, led by the explosive Mark Calado.

Jaleco led the charge for VNS-Laticrete in Game 1 with 15 points, including three kill blocks, while Culabat provided solid support with 11 points, eight excellent digs, and 11 excellent receptions.

Despite taking the opening set, the Griffins struggled with unforced errors and lost their grip on the match, allowing Savouge to stage a comeback.

This time, VNS-Laticrete must tighten its floor defense and execute under pressure to extend the series.

A win will push the bronze medal series to a winner-take-all Game 3, while a loss will see Savouge claim its second straight third-place finish in the tournament.

Game 2 of the Battle for Bronze is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
