In the heart of Paris, Argentina handball player Pablo Simonet and field hockey star Pilar Campoy found a moment that surpassed all their victories on the field.
Amid the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming Olympics, they found a moment to write a new chapter in their story in none other than the City of Love.
As captured in a video posted on X by the Olympics, Simonet stole the spotlight during the team photo and popped the question to his partner and Argentinian olympian, Campoy, who joyously accepted.
“The woman of my life gave me the yes 🤩 ?? In the dream place, where everything came from and where we fought so much to be. Happiness is total; thank you, friends, and a few accomplices, for making this special and being able to keep it forever. Paris is always a good idea,” Simonet wrote.
Campoy and Simonet started their relationship in 2015, a year before the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Argentina's handball team finished tenth overall, and Campoy's field hockey team reached the quarterfinals during those games.
