Another shot at a gold medal in Paris 2024 for Philippine gymnastics icon Carlos Yulo.
Carlos Yulo’s date with destiny is not quite done just yet.
Yulo fulfilled his boyhood dream Saturday (Philippine time), living up to his “Golden Boy” tag by ascending to the top of the Olympic podium, claiming a gold medal in floor exercise.

On Sunday, some 24 hours after rewriting Philippine sporting history, young Caloy can cement himself as an immortal, going for double Olympic gold medals as he competes in the finals of men’s vault.
Like floor exercise, vault is one of Yulo’s pet events for his artistic gymnastics career. One of Caloy’s two world championships is from vault, with the other being floor exercise.
With a start time of 10:24 p.m., Yulo will try to vault himself into a poetic golden double.
Among his rivals in the vault finale is Great Britain’s Jake Jarman, who won bronze in floor exercise.
Also in the mix are Nazar Chepyuni of Ukraine, Harry Hepworth of Great Britain, Igor Radivilov of Ukraine, Aurel Benovic of Croatia, Mahdi Olfati of Iran, and Artur Davtyan of Armenia.
