It was still a consolation finish for the reigning Asian Para Games gold medalist, who finished fifth but got disqualified due to lane infringement in the last edition of the event in Tokyo three years ago.
Maxime Carabin of Belgium won the gold with a time of 55.10 seconds, beating former champion Tomoki Sato (56.26) of Japan and Tomoya Ito (1:01.08), who bagged silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Mangliwan will have one last shot at a medal when he competes in the men’s 100m T52 on Friday, September 6.
