Cendy Asusano missed the podium, but there's still plenty to celebrate.

The debuting Paralympian for the Philippines finished fourth in the women's javelin throw - F54 final of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Her best distance was her first throw at 15.05 meters, a personal best for the 2017 ASEAN Para Games gold medalist.

The Pasig-based athlete failed on her second attempt before going for three more--but these fell below the 15 meter mark.

Uzbekistan's Nurkhon Kurbanova won gold by breaking her own world record of 20.73 meters, throwing at a distance of 21.12 meters. Nigeria's Flora Ugwunwa won silver with 19.26, while Iran's Elham Salehi got bronze with 16.24 meters.

Asusano was the sixth and final Filipino Paralympian in Paris 2024.
