Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as TNT resident import?

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been a tremendous reinforcement for TNT Tropang Giga in the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup.

As a replacement import, the former Brooklyn Net fit like a glove and led the team to five straight wins to finish on top of the standings after the elimination round.

Against the defensive-minded Meralco Bolts, the candidate for the Best Import award spearheaded Tropang Giga’s assault and consequently booked a seat in the finals against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

With his exploits, it's only natural for some fans to ask if he wants to stay a little longer as, say, a naturalized player for Gilas Pilipinas Men.

In an interview with Noli Eala in the show Power and Play, the prolific import said he would consider being a naturalized player.

How about being a resident import like rival Justin Brownlee of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, who is also incidentally a naturalized Filipino, though?

Sure, said RHJ. After all, TNT has been treating him like family ever since he arrived to replace Jalen Hudson.

“Yeah. I mean, definitely a consideration,” he said when asked during the press conference for the PBA Governors’ Cup finals between his TNT and Ginebra.

“The staff, the organization, the players, treat me like family so definitely it's a consideration."

While this sounds likely, Hollis-Jefferson has to focus on winning it all for the Tropang Giga first.
