The Phoenix Fuel Masters rookie is quite happy.
When Ricci Rivero is not busy practicing with the Phoenix Fuel Masters or not doing the laundry (allegedly), he is happy spending time with his girlfriend.
The high-flying guard has been extra inspired lately because of beauty queen Leren Mae Bautista. And it should only bode Rivero well, as he is set to make his PBA debut in the upcoming Commissioner's Cup next month.
The relationship of Rivero and Bautista, however, wasn't without controversy, as the former UP Fighting Maroon was accused of cheating on his ex-girlfriend, actress Andrea Brillantes. The 25-year-old Rivero denied (Euro-stepped?) the accusations.
Now with Bautista, the talented cager posted on Instagram on Saturday to express how content he is.
"Hindi tayo magtatago dahil walang dapat ikahiya. Walang nang-agaw at walang inagaw. Walang bibitaw dahil masaya tayong magkahawak-kamay," wrote Rivero, who was drafted by Phoenix as the 17th overall pick.
He concluded his post with a rather telling quip.
"I promise to never again live a life manipulated by someone’s fantasy. This is our story, hindi dapat iba ang magkuwento ng storya nating dalawa!"
Is he saying that Brillantes was—never mind.
Some fans commented their support for Rivero and Bautista, who placed in the top 10 in Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
"So happy for both of you 🩷 kilig naman!! alam natin ang totoo and that’s all that matters," said one fan.
"You are such a nice boy ever since I met you, you deserve all the genuine l??ve & Care," added another supporter.
Rivero's mom, meanwhile, shared a piece of advice.
"The truth is, if it’s meant to be, it will happen. When God wants you with someone, He will make it happen. Meanwhile, a healthy relationship is one in which there is oneness of goals, purpose, VALUES & BELIEFS. Keep your relationship healthy by LISTENING, talking, accepting, managing conflict, making time for each other, and praying together," said Abigail Rivero.
Can't argue with that.
