The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters finally made a move to address their lackluster performance in the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

That move was to tap Demetrius Treadwell to replace import Dajuan Summers after going 0-4 with the latter.

Coach Yeng Guiao had previously rued his team's poor rebounding as the reason for Rain or Shine's tailspin of a conference so far.

In their first four games, the Elasto Painters lost in the rebounding department by an average of 12.25 rebounds. Against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, they were outrebounded 57-42.

Guiao and the Bayan ng ROS certainly hope the 6-foot-7 University of Akron product could patch up that hole in Rain or Shine as he has gained a reputation for being a “rebounding demon,” as stated in the PBA's official website.

At Akron, a US NCAA Division 1 school, Treadwell averaged 7.3 boards in 97 games in the collegiate ranks, highlighted by his 13.0 rebounds per game during his final season. That's on top of the 10.0 points a game he scored as a senior to bring his scoring clip 11.4 markers in college.

Undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft, the 32-year-old American had stops in Argentina, Israel, France, Lithuania, and Puerto Rico.

His most notable stops overseas were in the Argentinian Liga A in 20142015, where he normed 13.7 points and 8.8 rebounds, and in the Israeli BSL 20172018 , where he posted 13.0 points and 8.9 rebounds.

Treadwell, who arrived on Sunday, is expected to reinforce the Elasto Painters in time for their game against the mighty San Miguel Beermen on Wednesday.

Game time is set at 8pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
