Jorge Gallent is also taking part in the PBA All-Star weekend as head coach of Team Mark Barroca.
After San Miguel zoomed to a 2-0 start, it is inevitable that coach Jorge Gallent would wish the Beermen to sustain their form in the ongoing PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.
But the conference action has to give way for the PBA All-Star this weekend, March 23 to 24, in Bacolod.
Gallent, who took home his first title as chief tactician of San Miguel in the Commissioner's Cup last month, is set to call the shots for Team Mark Barroca which includes his Beermen charges June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez as well as Blackwater star James Yap, TNT hotshot Jayson Castro, NLEX scoring machine Robert Bolick and Magnolia enigmatic forward Calvin Abueva, among others.

“Sana tuluy-tuloy, but we can’t do anything about it. The All-Star is coming,” said Gallent, whose San Miguel squad disposed of Rain or Shine and the Tropang Giga in its first two assignments.
Fajardo chimed in as he provided a solution to the situation at hand.
“Dalhin na lang namin sila (teammates), tapos doon (Bacolod) kami mag-practice,” said Fajardo in jest.

Gallent is not complaining.
After his stint in the exciting mid-season spectacle, he will return on court with the Beermen who will resume their practice on Tuesday.
“After the All-Star, we are going to rest a day and we are going to work hard again and prepare for the upcoming battles,” said Gallent.
San Miguel will next face last conference's surprise finalist Phoenix on March 31 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
