Marcio Lassiter eclipses LA Tenorio for the third spot in the leaderboard of all-time three-point field goals made in the PBA and could very well dislodge second-best Allan Caidic and No. 1 Jimmy Alapag.
San Miguel marksman Marcio Lassiter waited for center June Mar Fajardo’s screen on the right elbow with a little over two minutes left on the clock.
Lassiter dribbled right before soaring for a triple that put the finishing touches on San Miguel's 101-89 win over Rain or Shine in Game Two of the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup semifinal series on Sunday night, May 19.
That shot from deep, his third in the match, puts him one ahead of Ginebra star LA Tenorio's haul for third in the list of players with most three-point field goals all-time with 1219.

After relegating Tenorio's tally to fourth, Lassiter is likely to overtake greats Jimmy Alapag (1250) and Allan Caidic (1242), who occupy the 1-2 spots, respectively.
Lassiter tries to shove the idea out of his mind but finds it hard to ignore the possibility.
“I try not to think about it, but it’s kind of hard when I keep looking up and like, 'Oh, there goes my number’s game,'” Lassiter told reporters outside the Beermen's dugout at the Mall of Asia Arena.
San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent was elated for his ward and noted how Lassiter's teammates helped him in achieving the feat.
“As a coach, I'm really happy for him that he achieved this. He won't naman achieve this without the help of his teammates, so everybody helped him,” Gallent said.

Gallent is hopeful that Lassiter would someday top the list.
“In practice, we don't talk about it. When it comes, it comes. And it came now. Really happy for him. And I hope he moves forward to the top," he said.
At this point, that milestone does not really seem farfetched. It is no longer a question of if but when.
“When that time comes, that will be a very special moment for me,” Lassiter said.
