Slowly but surely, NLEX has seen progress in the previous season of the PBA.

In the Commissioner’s Cup, the Road Warriors missed the playoff bus with a 4-7 win-loss record. But the ensuing Philippine Cup saw them improve to a 6-5 tally, enough to punch a ticket to the quarterfinals.

The all-Filipino conference also saw young guns like Jhan Nermal and Enoch Valdez prove they should be in the regular rotation.

But moving forward, NLEX needs to rake in better results.

Enter new coach Jong Uichico.

NLEX tapped the multi-titled mentor to replace Frankie Lim in hopes that the former could take the team to new heights.

Here’s how NLEX looks for the upcoming Governors' Cup:

Outlook:

Kevin Alas is still recovering from a knee injury. But Uichico has more than enough weapons at his disposal to make things happen for the Road Warriors.

NLEX has Robert Bolick at the forefront of its campaign, with a support cast that includes Anthony, Herndon, Amer and Nieto.

The Road Warriors also added a promising rookie in Jonnel Policarpio, who turned heads in the Draft Combine last July as he was feted Most Valuable Player.

With the nine-time champion coach calling the shots, nothing is impossible for NLEX.
