Angge Poyos and the UST Golden Tigresses will have everything to play for when they face defending champion NU Lady Bulldogs in a pivotal UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball eliminations match on Sunday, April 27, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With the Final Four cast already set, UST (9-4) seeks to snatch the last twice-to-beat bonus by toppling powerhouse NU.

A victory would allow the Golden Tigresses to finish ahead of La Salle and FEU — both carrying 9-5 slates — and enter the semifinals armed with a vital advantage against the Lady Spikers.

Poyos is expected to spearhead UST’s charge against an NU squad (11-2) that has already secured the no. 1 seed but is out to keep its dominance after winning their first-round encounter.

A win will not come easy, as MVP frontrunner Bella Belen and the Lady Bulldogs are determined to build momentum heading into their title defense.

Slated to meet La Salle in the semis regardless of Sunday’s result, the Golden Tigresses are poised to fight tooth and nail for every opportunity — knowing full well how much difference a twice-to-beat edge could make.
