TNT holds off Ginebra, strikes first in best-of-seven PBA Season 49 Governors

Defending champion TNT seized control early then thwarted repeated efforts by Ginebra to close in later on to secure a 104-88 win in Game 1 of the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup Finals on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Rey Nambatac led the way with 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals to earn Player of the Game honors in a rousing start for the Tropang Giga in the best-of-seven finale at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.

The Gin Kings will aim to even things up on Game 2 on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
