Paul Lee figured in an accident at the venue of Magnolia's game against NLEX in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup on Friday, Dec. 20.
With an ice pack on his head, Paul Lee sat on the bench and watched on as Magnolia did its shootaround at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Friday, Dec. 20.
It turned out, Lee figured in an accident during the pre-game stretching, forcing him to sit out the Hotshots' 99-95 win over NLEX that arrested their four-game skid in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.
“Nag-wa-warm up ako kanina tapos 'yung bakal doon, bumagsak sa mukha ko,” Lee said, referring to the railings separating the path to the dugout and the comfort rooms for spectators inside the venue.
“Medyo tinamaan ako sa ulo. Medyo dizzy lang 'yung feeling, mabigat lang sa… bumagsak sa mukha ko 'yung bakal.”
He added: “May bands akong hawak, nakatali 'yung bands doon, hindi naman malakas 'yung [paghatak] ko, pero ewan ko kung bakit bumagsak, hindi ko rin alam.”

Coach Chito Victolero and his staff decided to just rest him for precautionary measures.
“Nahihilo siya 'pag tumatakbo siya so we decided to rest him,” Victolero said.

Lee will undergo an MRI as soon as the team doctor calls him.
“Baka magpa-CT scan, hinihintay ko lang 'yung call ng team doctor namin,” Lee said.
Fortunately for the Hotshots, even without Lee, they were still able to end their struggles to climb to 2-4 in the mid-season tournament.
But they will definitely need him when they take on Ginebra on Christmas Day at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
