Ginebra and San Miguel square off in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup Sunday as the mid-season tournament resumes for the new year.
Will Ginebra fans finally get to see Jamie Malonzo back in action on Sunday, Jan. 5? After reports got out that Ginebra activated him on Friday, Jan. 4, Gin Kings coach Tim Cone said the high-flying forward is a game-time decision against San Miguel as the PBA Commissioner's Cup gets right into action in the new year.
“Jamie will be a game-time decision,” Cone told One Sports via text message.
Ginebra and the Beermen square off at 7:30 p.m. from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
Malonzo has been shelved for almost nine months after sustaining a calf injury in Ginebra’s 95-88 win over NorthPort in the Philippine Cup last season.

Disaster struck with only 10 seconds left to play and the game already in the bag for the Gin Kings, when the winger went for the drive in hopes of putting the exclamation point to the victory.
Malonzo went down after taking a couple of steps from the right elbow at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate. He hasn’t played since.
However, the former La Salle standout has been participating in Ginebra’s practices over the last few weeks.
