Paul Lee and the rest of Magnolia will definitely dedicate Sunday’s game to their good friend.
Magnolia Hotshots were about to kickstart Saturday’s practice when they received the devastating news that a part of their family passed away.
It was Rodney del Rosario, the Magnolia utility staff more popularly known as “Tembot.” The cause of death was not disclosed.
Among the players, it looked like Paul Lee was the most affected. Upon learning about his untimely demise from Del Rosario’s wife around 9am on Saturday, Lee has posted tribute photos and stories on Instagram about his fun times with “Bot.”
“Mahal kong kaibigan mamimiss kita,” Lee wrote on his post. “Nakakalungkot sobra hindi man lang kita nakita [nang] personal pagbalik ko, pahinga ka na kaibigan ko. Watch over us mahal kong kaibigan!!! Rest in PEACE BOT!!!!”
Other Magnolia players also showed their love for Del Rosario, who had been with the team for four years.
Since a family member died, a team official said the whole squad will go to Del Rosario’s wake this week.
Magnolia opens its PBA Governors’ Cup campaign today against Converge at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Expect Lee to go off to honor his old pal. He will even wear this pair in the 4:30pm contest.
