The second signing of Chery Tiggo has been announced.
Just hours after announcing the signing of Jennifer Nierva, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers have also unveiled the acquisition of Joyme Cagande of the NU Lady Bulldogs.
Alongside Nierva, Cagande helped bring home the UAAP women’s volleyball crown to NU back in Season 84.
Cagande is best known for her amazing performance in the PVL, back when amateurs were allowed to play in the league. Back then, Cagande put up 54 excellent sets to show her immense potential.
While Cagande’s UAAP career was derailed by injuries and the COVID-19 pandemic, many fans still consider her as potentially the next great playmaker, especially with her impressive credentials in high school.
Cagande won four high school titles with the NU School of Nazareth and was named Best Setter from Season 78 to 80.
Under Chery Tiggo, Cagande will have a tough task ahead as she will have to earn her keep against the likes of Jasmine Nabor and Alina Bicar.
Still, Cagande will be a valuable asset for the Crossovers as they look to finally get over the hump and become title contenders.
