The Crossovers’ recruitment game is on fire.
The Cherry Tiggo Crossovers’ blockbuster recruitment ahead of the PVL Invitational Conference reached fever pitch on Sunday as the franchise officially announced its acquisition of former UST Golden Tigresses superstar Eya Laure. The prolific spiker from España is set to join her college teammate Imee Hernandez—whose signing was made public hours before Laure's—in the Chery Tiggo family.
Chery Tiggo has already been making noise in the offseason with its signing of three NU Lady Bulldogs standouts, namely Jennifer Nierva, Cess Robles, and Joyme Cagande. But of course, the Crossovers wanted to save the biggest announcement for additional thrill and drama. And the club did just by unveiling Laure as their newest star player.
Cherry Tiggo’s new recruits will certainly be a big boost as the team tries make it back on top of the PVL mountain. The last time the Crossovers won a championship in the league was back in 2021 when they conquered the Open Conference. Since then, they only made it to the semifinal round once. In this year’s All-Filipino Conference, they came short of reaching the Final Four as they finished fifth overall.
With Laure, Hernandez, Nierva, Robles, and Cagande joining its roster, the future looks bright for Chery Tiggo. An immediate 180-degree turn for the Crossovers is truly possible once Laure and the rest of the star recruits don Cherry Tiggo’s black and red.
