Gaston and the Crossovers are looking to make a splash in postseason play.
Now that their elimination round campaign is over, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers are gearing up for the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference semifinals.
And there’s probably no one as ready as Pauline Gaston for the tougher matches ahead.
Well, at least that appears to be the message Gaston was sending when she posted on Instagram a photo of herself in a Chery Tiggo uniform with a padlock emoji as caption.
She probably meant she was locked in and ready for post-elimination play, which starts on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Or maybe she was simply saying that she is ready to deny entry as Chery's reliable middle blocker?
Look:
Either way, that has got to be a good sign for Chery Tiggo.
In fact, the rest of the Crossovers should be fired up and locked in like Gaston after suffering back-to-back losses to wrap up the elimination round. That last loss, of course, was a 25-16, 25-19, 25-23 loss to Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Saturday.
Right now, Gaston and her Chery Tiggo teammates are toting an 8-3 win-loss record, which is good for third place behind the Creamline Cool Smashers (10-0) and the Flying Titans (10-1).
Needless to say, the Crossovers are probably underdogs come the next round. Not that it seems to matter to Gaston, who averaged 6.09 points per game in the eliminations.
What matters is she is ready to up the ante when the Crossovers go to battle in the semifinals. Her teammates ought to follow her lead.
