The offseason moves in the PVL continue.

After the departure of Michelle Morente, another PLDT High Speed Hitter is officially departing from the team.

In an Instagram post, outside hitter Mean Mendrez announced that she would be parting ways with the High Speed Hitters.

“To my amazing PLDT family, I’m deeply grateful for the countless opportunities and the incredible journey we’ve shared. Working with all of you has been a wonderful experience,” Mendrez wrote in her post.

“No goodbyes, but see you on the other side of the net,” she added.

Shortly after her announcement, one of Mendrez’s closest teammates in PLDT, Kath Arado, penned a touching message on her IG story.

“(Love you), kulang na ‘yung chona girls sa team. Mami-miss ko ‘yung tili mo sa training,” Arado wrote. “Bisitahin mo pa din kami ah? Alam mo naman kung saan ako nakatira.”

Arado and Mendrez both arrived at PLDT in 2022 and would go on to help the team reach the semifinals in several conferences.

As they separate, it’s clear that their bond will last even outside the court.

The question now is—where will Mendrez head off next? And what is PLDT up to following the departure of two key attackers in their squad?

Fans will surely be awaiting their moves in the coming days and weeks.
