Petro Gazz hitter Brooke Van Sickle had nothing but good things to say about PLDT ace Savi Davison after their first of many PVL showdowns.
After taking on
Choco Mucho star Sisi Rondina several days ago, Petro Gazz newcomer Brooke Van Sickle faced off with another prolific scorer in Savi Davison of PLDT on Saturday.
Van Sickle got the better of Davison as the Angels belted the High Speed Hitters with a straight-set 25-16, 25-23, 25-21 whipping in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Filipina-American stalwart flaunted her all-around brilliance with a game-high 23 points, 12 digs and four receptions. This negated Davison's well-rounded performance of 19 markers, nine receptions and five digs.
Van Sickle may have won the battle and the war but she could not help but marvel at the Filipina-Canadian hitter's prowess.
"You know, I expected her to make points and she's a fantastic player, she's very physical, jumps high, hits extremely hard," Van Sickle said.
"I thought just even beyond her offensive game, I thought her defensive even passing was really well, she had a really good all-around game. So it was it was super fun to play against her."
At the onset of the PNVF Champions League, Van Sickle, who had just arrived in the country at that time, already expressed her desire to face-off against Davison.
As it turns out, Van Sickle did not just simply want a showdown with the
PLDT outside hitter on the court, as she looks to connect with her outside the game.
"Yeah, like, you know, we're gonna build that friendship," the Petro Gazz ace bared.
"Even though we're on different teams we will all be friends. So I'm super excited for that."
