Following over a year of rehabilitation, Kim Kianna Dy returns to the court with a heart full of appreciation, seizing the opportunity to compete once again—this time with the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
559 days had passed since Kim Kianna Dy sustained her knee injury during the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference.

But through it all, she never lost sight of her goal.
In May 2024, Dy shared a heartfelt message on her TikTok account, opening up about the struggles she faced during her recovery.
She acknowledged the tough days when she felt like giving up but emphasized how her love for the sport and her desire to return to the court fueled her to keep pushing forward.
“Past months have been hard. Some days you feel like giving up, but your will to get back on court will always be stronger,” she wrote.

In the debut episode of Off the Record, Dy also opened up to One Sports about her recovery journey, discussing the emotional and physical challenges she faced and highlighting the significance of patience as she works her way back to the game.
“How do I be patient? Well, I haven’t been patient. I mean, it’s hard because this is the longest I haven’t been playing. Nakaka-miss when I see my teammates playing and it’s like when am I gonna play?” she said.
“But I mean, it’s all part of the process and I can’t rush things because baka mas lalo maging masama ‘yung injury. Now, we’re just taking it step by step,” Kianna further emphasized.

Though Dy didn’t score in the High-Speed Hitters’ four-set victory over Cignal, her presence on the court was powerful and felt by everyone at the PhilSports Arena.
While she is still working her way back to her best form, just being back on the court after such a challenging journey was an emotional victory for her.
In an Instagram post, Kianna shared her joy and gratitude with a smile.
“It’s been 559 days… good to be back, see you next game,” she wrote.
Her former DLSU Lady Spikers teammates, Majoy Baron and Kim Fajardo, now playing for PLDT, expressed their excitement and pride in seeing Kianna back in action.

Slowly but surely, Dy is grinding to get back to her vintage form, and with each step, she’s proving that no setback is too big to overcome.
Dy and the High-Speed Hitters will be back on the court next Tuesday, February 4, to face the Farm Fresh Foxies.
