Alina Bicar and the Chery Tiggo Crossovers fended off the Nxled Chameleons to continue surging in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers made it three victories on the spin after turning back the Nxled Chameleons, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday.
The Crossovers needed to brush aside an opening-set speed bump before cranking up their engine en route to a 5-2 slate.
Alina Bicar churned out the high-octane offense of Chery Tiggo, generating 17 excellent sets on top of 13 excellent digs.
Leaning on the playmaking of Bicar, the Crossovers strung solid contributions from the troika of Mylene Paat, Eya Laure and Cess Robles, overcoming Ivy Lacsina's best showing in a Nxled jersey and Jho Maraguinot's all-around effort.
Paat spearheaded the thrust with 15 points, while the younger of the Laure siblings flaunted her two-way form of 12 markers built on four blocks laced with 13 receptions. Robles pitched in 11 points.
Jennifer Nierva patrolled the floor with 20 digs and 12 receptions.
Meanwhile, the Chameleons continue to trudge near the cellar, falling to a 1-5 record.
Lacsina saw her game-high output of 20 points went down the drain, along with Maraguinot's triple-double of 11 markers, 13 digs and 31 receptions.
Lycha Ebon had 14 points in a losing cause, while Camille Victoria managed 12 markers spiked by four rejections.
Chery Tiggo seeks to sustain its run when it collides with Cignal on April 11, Thursday.
Nxled, on the other hand, aims to get back on winning track when it faces Strong Group Athletics on April 4, Thursday.
Both matches will be held at the same Pasig venue.
