In the final moments of the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference last May 12, Bea de Leon found herself at the center of a dramatic and poetic twist of fate.

De Leon delivered the title-clinching point for Creamline, sealing the fate of her former team, Choco Mucho, in Game 2 of the Finals at the fabled Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The triumph not only gave de Leon her first league title but also marked a deeply personal moment for the 5-foot-11 middle blocker, who had spent the previous four years leading the Flying Titans.

“There’s a part of me that’s always rooting for them except, of course, for this game,” de Leon bared.

While elated with Creamline’s success, de Leon could not ignore the affection and admiration she held for her former squad.

The Flying Titans, after all, had come a long way, battling their way through a conference marred with injuries and obstacles en route to a commendable runner-up finish.

“Pero talaga, sobrang proud ako sa narating na ng team, malayo na,” the former Ateneo stalwart said.

The journey to this moment was far from straightforward for de Leon, who transitioned from being the heart and soul of Choco Mucho to becoming a key reserve for Creamline.

Her move was a significant shift. It required adapting to a new team dynamic and embracing the culture of excellence that defines the Cool Smashers.

When asked if she already feels at home with Creamline, de Leon had this to say.

“Yes, I’d like to think that. They’ve been so welcoming to me, and talagang tinanggap nila ako. And pinagkatiwalaan nila ako kaagad, so I’m just really thankful,” she gushed.
