The Creamline Cool Smashers continue to express their support for former ace setter Jia De Guzman, whose Denso Airybees team is in position to contend for the Japan SV.LEAGUE title this season.
Ahead of their campaign in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League next month, the Creamline Cool Smashers made sure to stand behind former setter Jia De Guzman who is currently playing with the Denso Airybees in Japan.
In a statement released on Monday, the multi-titled PVL team acknowledged De Guzman’s current run with Denso, who are sitting 2nd in the standings in the ongoing Japan SV.League, behind Sachi Minowa’s (Jaja Santiago) Osaka Marvelous.
“The Creamline Cool Smashers are excited to be one of the two teams representing the Philippines in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League this April,” the statement read.
“We also want to express our heartfelt support for Jia De Guzman, who’s currently under contract with Denso Airybees until May. As Denso gears up for the SVL Championship round, we acknowledge the hard work and dedication of all the players, especially Jia, who truly embodies the spirit of our sport,” they added.
The Denso Airybees are currently touting a 25-9 slate, with De Guzman appearing in 10 matches this season.
Creamline ace Alyssa Valdez recently spoke about wanting to reunite with former teammates like Erica Staunton and De Guzman in future competitions.

Regardless of the timing implications, the Cool Smashers reiterated that they are focused on the task ahead, including their title defense in the ongoing PVL All-Filipino Conference, and at the same time, expressing support for De Guzman.
“Our focus at Creamline is on the journey ahead, and we’re committed to representing our country with pride in the Champions League. We have faith in our team’s strength and determination to make a meaningful impact on the international stage,” they said.
“Let’s unite in supporting Jia and Denso this season, wishing them the best as they pursue their goals. Together, we celebrate the camaraderie and competitive spirit that volleyball brings to our community,” Creamline added.
The Creamline Cool Smashers, first and foremost, will be focusing on the PVL All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals which begins later this month on March 15. They are the top-seeded team in the tournament.
