Cignal bucked a set 3 loss before eclipsing the Capital1 Solar Spikers, 25-20, 25-17, 23-25, 25-13, Saturday in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena.
Fresh from their straight-set upset of two-time defending champion Petro Gazz last time out, the Solar Spikers appeared ready to outshine another contender after gutting out a close third set.
But the HD Spikers quickly shattered that thought, dominating the decisive fourth set to seize early control in the Group B standings.
The victory pushed Cignal to 3-0, maintaining first place in Group B.
Import MJ Perez shined anew for the HD Spikers, finishing with 23 points in the win around 20 attacks, two aces, and a block.
