The Kurashiki Ablaze continue their dominant run in the PVL Invitational Conference, after crushing former teammate Asaka Tamaru and the Farm Fresh Foxies.
The Kurashiki Ablaze remain undefeated in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference after making quick work of the Farm Fresh Foxies, 25-13, 25-16, 25-16, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Thursday, September 5.
The defending champions dominated the Foxies, which features former Kurashiki player Asaka Tamaru and now-head coach Shota Sato, right from the get-go.
In the third set, Kurashiki stormed ahead early after building a 10-point lead at 16-6, which they only continued to extend, reaching as many as 14 points.
Trisha Tubu tried to spark some life for the Foxies, who were last-minute additions to the conference, managing to cut the lead to just a single deficit.
But in the end, the Ablaze proved to be just too much as Tamaru’s attack sailed wide, leading to their second victory in two days.
Middle blocker Cing Low Mei led the way once more for Kurashiki with 12 points on seven attacks and four blocks. Saya Taniguchi added 10 markers on 48% attack efficiency.
No Farm Fresh player finished with double-digit scoring, as Tubu and Tamaru had nine and eight, respectively.
