Only one victory separates the Creamline Cool Smashers from history.

The Cool Smashers geared up for their gold medal match tomorrow in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference with a 25-15, 25-13 and 25-19 sweep of the Farm Fresh Foxies at the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Jema Galanza made her much-awaited return worth it and finished with 13 points built on 11 attacks and two blocks while only playing two sets. She was in uniform earlier and participated in the warm-ups for the nine-time PVL Champions.

This marked the first time Galanza suited up for the Cool Smashers since their season-opening conquest in the All-Filipino Conference last May. The two-time PVL MVP fulfilled her Alas Pilipinas duties, causing her to miss the whole Reinforced Conference and opening stages of the Invitational tournament.

After dominating the first two sets, Creamline started slow in the third set and trailed 8-12, but eventually regained their footing for a 16-14 advantage after a Galanza off-the-block hit. < /p>

The Cool Smashers then put on the finishing touches en route to their fourth-straight win and moved one win away from making their grand slam dreams a reality.

Import Erica Staunton played limited minutes and finished with five points while reigning MVP Bernadeth Pons had eight markers, 10 digs and eight receptions in another all-around outing.

Creamline’s Finals opponent is still yet to be determined as defending champion Kurashiki Ablaze and the Cignal HD Spikers will duke it out later at 6:00 p.m. in a crucial showdown.

Meanwhile, Tamaru Asaka scored 10 points to lead the way for Farm Fresh, who dropped their fourth-straight game and finished winless in the season-ending tournament.

Their loss means that Thai club EST Cola qualifies for the bronze medal game and will face the loser of the Kurashiki-Cignal showdown later.

Farm Fresh joined the Invitational Conference at the last-minute after the PLDT High Speed Hitters begged off from participating due to some injury concerns to their players.
