The PLDT High Speed Hitters kicked off their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign with a solid four-set win over the Nxled Chameleons, 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday.
Returning from a knee surgery, Savi Davison led PLDT with a team-high 19 points and nine excellent receptions, marking an impressive comeback after missing the Reinforced Conference.
Rookie setter Angge Alcantara was named Player of the Game with 13 excellent sets, guiding the High Speed Hitters in the absence of veteran Kim Fajardo and following the departure of Rhea Dimaculangan.
Despite Nxled’s third-set win, PLDT regrouped to close out the match in the fourth, securing a strong opening victory as they aim for a promising run in the conference.
