The PLDT High Speed Hitters are in good hands with the young Angge Alcantara stepping up in the absence of Kim Fajardo against the Nxled Chameleons in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The PLDT High Speed Hitters opened their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference with a four-set victory over the Nxled Chameleons, 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday, thanks to the impressive performance of rookie setter Angge Alcantara.
Stepping up as the team’s playmaker in the absence of veteran Kim Fajardo and following the departure of Rhea Dimaculangan, Alcantara was named Player of the Game with 13 excellent sets as she orchestrated PLDT's offense.
Meanwhile, Savi Davison, making her return after knee surgery, led the scoring with 19 points and nine excellent receptions.
Though Nxled pushed back to claim the third set, Alcantara and the High Speed Hitters held their ground in the fourth, securing an opening victory to set a strong tone for the season.
