The Creamline Cool Smashers keep their five-peat hopes alive after taking down the Petro Gazz Angels in Game 2 of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals in five thrilling sets.
The Creamline Cool Smashers will not give up their crown that easily as they held off the Petro Gazz Angels in a five-set thriller, 25-15, 16-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-9, in Game 2 of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Thursday, April 10.
In a pressure-packed fifth set, the defending champions showed no signs of collapse as Bernadeth Pons put the team on her back, scoring five of the eight points for an 8-6 advantage.
With momentum on their side, Creamline extended its slim lead to 12-8 after Myla Pablo’s attack went wide. From there, the Cool Smashers held on to their lead with Jema Galanza sealing the win with a service ace.
Pons took home Player of the Game honors with 22 points on 19 attacks, two service aces, and one block.
With the victory, the Cool Smashers’ five-peat hopes remain alive as they forced a winner-take-all Game 3 on Saturday, April 12 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
