The power of inspiration is real.
An inspiration can go a long way. It builds confidence. It drives people. And for athletes, it's a source of their strength to fight, not just in sports, but also in life.
Celebrating the National Women's Month, UST Golden Tigress Imee Hernandez and comebacking La Salle opposite spiker Alleiah Malaluan shared to One Sports their female inspirations.
For Hernandez, it is her OFW mother and her sister who took care of her while their mother is working abroad.
"Of course 'yung mom ko, and aside from my mom, 'yung sister ko. Kasi siya na 'yung nagpalaki sa akin, 'yung sister ko since mom ko is OFW," Hernandez said.
The UST middle blocker from Bulacan shared how she is touched by her sister's unselfishness.
"Kahit wala na siya, basta para sa aming mga kapatid niya, ibibigay niya. Na-inspire ako sa kanya kasi palagi niyang ginagawa 'yung mga bagay para sa ibang tao."
Malaluan, on the other hand, shared her relationship with her mother.
"She's always there for me, and at the same time if I have problems, siya talaga 'yung lalapitan ko. We're like sisters."
