Kevin Quiambao's three-word message to Topex Robinson shows key bond that makes La Salle dangerous

Expressing love for one another is a staple in any Topex Robinson team. Robinson himself encourages that.

The La Salle Green Archers are no exception.

On Saturday, La Salle main man Kevin Quiambao did just that. In an Instagram Story, Quiambao reposted a photo of him and Robinson hugging it out in the Green Archers' dominant victory over the NU Bulldogs in their final four duel.

“Love you man,” he wrote in the caption with a kissing emoji and a handshake emoji.

No wonder this group has been humming, rolling over whoever comes its way.

This type of bond between the coach and the team is probably the reason why the Green Archers are now in the midst of nine-game winning streak to book a return trip to the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball finals.

For the first time since Season 80, La Salle entered the grandest stage of collegiate basketball, this time against the UP Fighting Maroons.

“For six years, we haven’t reached the finals so we just want to make sure that we remember what brought us here—the wins, the culture that we built,” Robinson said after the Green Archers beating NU Bulldogs in the Final Four.

Whether or not that bond and culture will spill over to the finals remains to be seen. The Quiambao-Robinson connection, though, figures to give the Green Archers more than a fighting chance to win it all this season.

La Salle and UP duke it out in Game 1 of the finals on Wednesday.
