Brooke Van Sickle remains hopeful and excited about the opportunity to represent the Philippines, as she and fellow Petro Gazz star MJ Phillips await the finalization of their transfer to the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).

Van Sickle shared the latest with reporters after her stint at the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League.

“I haven't heard any updates yet,” Van Sickle shared. “I know that MJ and my paperwork have already been processed, so now we're just kind of waiting for the next step, I guess.”

Both Van Sickle and Phillips, who remain affiliated with USA Volleyball, have consistently expressed their desire to switch federations and suit up for the Philippines in international competitions.

The two have already been included in the PNVF's 33-player wishlist for Alas Women.

Van Sickle had a taste of international action--representing Petro Gazz--at the AVC Champions League, where she played a crucial role in the Angels' hard-fought quarterfinal loss against Beijing Baic Motor, 29-31, 25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 12-15, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig Friday, April 25.

But donning the Philippine jersey on the international stage would another dream achieved for the Fil-Hawaiian spiker.

“We're waiting patiently and hoping. If we could represent the Philippines, that would be awesome. It’s an honorable thing, and also it's a great opportunity,” she said. “Just to even network and meet all the girls would be super cool.”

But for now, the two-time PVL MVP said that it’s a "day-by-day" situation.

“If we get an update and it goes well, then for sure, we'll represent. As of right now, we have no idea. It's kind of up in the air," Van Sickle admitted.

"But even if we don't end up playing, best of luck to the girls. I hope they stay healthy and they're going to do phenomenal. I'm really excited to watch them — or even join them. I'm really stoked,” she added.
