We don’t call him Golden Boy for nothing.

On Sunday, Carlos Yulo lived up to his name and snagged two gold medals in the 2023 Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

The 23-year-old gymnast lorded over the vault with a score of 14.299, besting Abdulaziz of Uzbekistan (14.083) and Jaeho Kim of South Korea (13.766).

In parallel bars, the Olympian also tallied 15.266 points to leapfrog Japan’s Shinnosuke Oka (15.133) and China’s Dehan Yin (15.100) and claim the gold mint.

But he was not as successful in the high bar event later that day, winding up third (14.033) behind China’s Hao Tian (14.533) and Oka (14.366) who bagged the gold and silver, respectively.

On Saturday, Yulo also nabbed the gold medal in the floor exercise

The prized Filipino athlete is inching closer to the 2024 Olympics as he sealed a slot in the World Artistic Gymnastics later this year in Belgium with a silver medal finish in the individual all-around event last Friday.

The World Artistic Gymnastics also doubles as a qualifier for the Paris games.

At the rate things are going, it appears a return to the Olympics is within reach for Yulo.

In the distaff side, Emma Malabuyo pocketed the silver medal after logging 13.166 in the floor event, while national teammate Aleah Finnegan finished at fourth. Quinying Zhang of China topped the said event with 13.233 points while South Korean Solyi Shin wound up third with 13.066. Finnegan also earned bronze medals in the women's vault and beam events.
