Islay Bomogao will be part of the Philippine contingent for the IFMA World Championship next month in Turkey.

Islay Erika Bomogao can't wait to showcase her continuous improvement in Muay Thai, hoping that she gets to return to Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium soon.
Bomogao's scheduled fight against Narea Rubio at ONE Friday Fights 102 on March 28 was canceled when an earthquake rocked Thailand and Myanmar, forcing ONE Championship to call off the entire show.
"I am brimming with energy and excitement. This eagerness I feel is not just about the fight itself, but also about the culmination of my hard work and perseverance," she said.
The 24-year-old admitted there was disappointment on her end, but she turned her focus to improvement, especially as she'll be representing the Philippines soon under a different banner.
Bomogao will be part of the Philippine contingent for the IFMA World Championship next month in Turkey. The team spent the last few weeks at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket to polish their skills against some of the best strikers in the world.
"I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from my time there," she said. "Beyond the skills, I too learned the value of camaraderie and forging bonds with other athletes and coaches."
The Team Bagsik representative had nothing but great things to say about her experience at the camp — from the facilities to the people she worked with during her time there.
"Super intense but it's rewarding. The atmosphere was highly motivating too because of the top-notch facilities and awesome people," Bomogao said.
"The training itself was world-class, with incredible trainers who were very open to collaborating with my coaches. I was able to get personalized attention and a tailored training program. I enjoyed everything, really."
