Jia got valuable training and exposure even before the season started.
Eight-time PVL Best Setter Jia de Guzman seems to like wearing pink. After all, she feels right at home with the jersey color as she trains with Japan V.League club Denso Airybees.
But fans of the Creamline Cool Smashers may be feeling a little strange to see her wear a different jersey number.
De Guzman has always worn number 12, harking back from her days with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
The star setter also wore the magic number for her PVL club.
It was her number with the national team too.
But with the Airybees, de Guzman is bannering the number 11 jersey.
"Step by step. Live in the moment," she posted in photos of her training so far.
Fellow setter Ayane Furuichi already snagged the number 12 jersey prior to de Guzman's move to the Japanese club.
Tis only a number.
De Guzman got far something more valuable in exchange with her stay with Denso, training with the Brazilian national team and meeting Olympic silver medalist Rosamaria Montibeller as a future teammate.
Looking forward to the growth, Jia!
