Carlos Yulo failed to bag a medal in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships for the first time since 2019 and fans are blaming the coaching change as reason for that disappointing campaign. The gymnastics wonderboy parted ways with long-time coach Munehiro Kugimiya last month ending a seven-year stint with the Japanese trainer.

In this year's edition of the World Championships, Yulo only managed to reach the men's floor finals, eventually finishing fourth. He failed to medal in vault and even landed flat on his back during an attempt.

Many believe the 23-year-old shouldn't have cut ties with coach Munehiro.

"For the first time since he turned senior, Carlos Yulo fails to get a medal at World Championships. He might want to reevaluate that coach switching decision," X (formerly Twitter) user Josh Yeoh said.
