A lot of YouTube boxing has been going on nowadays. Yep, those dudes who've made a ton of money from the social media platform are now making a ton of money inside the squared circle.
On Sunday, a bunch of them entered the ring at the AO Arena in Manchester and cashed in after throwing and taking a few punches. Logan Paul and Dillon Danis had a farce of a boxing match, which ended in a free-for-all brawl, while KSI and Tommy Fury mixed it up for a snoozefest.
Unluckily for YouTube and TikTok sensation Salt Papi, he ended up in the wrong corner of the fight card’s most explosive bout. The Filipino-British social media star, whose real name is Nathaniel Bustamante, got stopped in devastating fashion by fellow YouTuber Slim Albaher for the so-called "Misfits Boxing" middleweight title.
Salt Papi entered the match in the best shape of his life. He has always been a chubby fellow but he significantly trimmed down for Albaher. But obviously, slim Salt Papi was no match for his more skilled opponent.
After holding his own in the first two rounds, Salt Papi got careless in the fourth frame and was caught with a short right-hand counter as a result. It was the beginning of the end as Albaher hammered away on his defenseless prey until the referee couldn’t take it no more.
At the end of the beatdown, Salt Papi took to Instagram to show that he’s got a heart like Manny Pacquiao’s despite having the chin of Ricky Hatton.
“RESPECT TO @slim_slimmofication WHAT A FIGHT! I GOT UNLUCKY BUT WILL COMEBACK STRONGER,” he posted.
In fairness to Salt Papi, he truly earned Albaher’s admiration.
“Respect my brother, you are one hell of a warrior and fighter, true hero of the Philippines,” Albaher commented on the post.
