Dwight Howard's 20-20 game tows Strong Group to Dubai Finals

Dwight Howard went full Superman for Strong Group.

 

In the semifinals of the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship early Sunday (PHL), Howard turned back the clock to lead Strong Group Philippines to a repeat win over Sports Club Beirut, 94-72.

 

Dwight played his best game so far, going for a strong 26 points and 20 rebounds to tow Strong Group to the Finals. The three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year also had three steals and a block.

 

SGA led by as many as 26 against Beirut, before taking the 22-point to advance. The Philippine-backed team also beat Beirut by 22 in the group stage.

 

UAAP MVP and Finals MVP Kevin Quiambao continued his stellar stint in Dubai, finishing with 18 points.

 

Justine Baltazar added 15, while Jordan Heading scored 10 for Strong Group. Dar Tucker led the way for Beirut with 22 points.

 

Strong Group will take on Lebanon’s Al Riyadi in the Finals.
