Cignal added yet another promising talent to its already potent arsenal after acquiring the services of FEU middle blocker Martin Bugaoan.
Cignal has further bolstered its already formidable lineup by acquiring another promising talent in Far Eastern University standout Martin Bugaoan.
The decorated club team on Monday welcomed the two-time UAAP Best Middle Blocker awardee, who joins Owa Retamar and JM Ronquillo as the newest additions to the HD Spikers.
“Sobrang saya na magiging part na ako ng Team Cignal and thankful lang sa management ng Cignal kasi ako ‘yung napili nila na one of the players ng Cignal,” Bugaoan said.
Bugaoan’s career move has also reunited him with his elder brother, JP Bugaoan, the captain and one of the mainstays of Cignal.
The siblings will be teammates for the first time in four years, having last played together in the truncated UAAP Season 82.
“Lagi naman kami nag uusap ni kuya, parang ‘yung bond namin na magkapatid is sobrang intact, and hindi ko alam kung anong mangyayari kapag sa inside the court na kami magsasama kasi naging teammate kami noong last playing year niya sa FEU,” Martin shared.
“‘Yun nakikita ko naman talaga na sobrang dedicated ni kuya sa akin na gusto niya ako mag grow sa sarili ko. Siguro mas magiging intact pa ‘yung bonding namin as magkapatid and as teammates.”
Bugaoan is set to strengthen Cignal's middle blocker rotation, joining his brother, Lloyd Josafat, Nas Gwaza, Giles Torres, and Ronniel Rosales.
The 23-year-old is eager to develop further as a player, especially alongside the core that recently reigned over the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.
“‘Yung expectation ko sa sarili ko is siguro mas maggo-grow ako sa team na ‘to kasi alam ko sa sarili ko ‘yung dedication ko sa sarili ko na mas umangat pa and mas maging maayos pa ‘yung journey na tatahakin ko,” he said.
