Kai Sotto is averaging a double-double for the Koshigaya Alphas, with his rebounding numbers now ranked third in all of the B.LEAGUE after five rounds.
Team record might not reflect it, but Kai Sotto is off to a strong start in the 2024-25 B.LEAGUE season in Japan.
Through five rounds, Sotto is averaging 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, which lead his team in the Koshigaya Alphas.
Sotto’s rebounding numbers are the best of his pro career so far, and he’s currently ranked third in all of the B.LEAGUE.
In nine games so far, Kai has recorded double-digit rebounds in seven of them, including a career-high 18 rebounds against Sendai.
Sotto is also averaging a B1 career-high 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks, which is tied for second in the B.LEAGUE so far, trailing only his Gilas Pilipinas teammate AJ Edu.

Unfortunately, the Alphas are deeply challenged in their first-ever B1 season, struggling out of the gates with a 1-8 record.
Nevertheless, Sotto’s career-year so far is an encouraging sign for Koshigaya and by extension, Gilas Pilipinas.
