Filipino import Dwight Ramos spoke about what he appreciates as team captain of the Levanga Hokkaido as the B.LEAGUE collaborated with Captain America: Brave New World for a special video.
Levanga Hokkaido’s Dwight Ramos and other Japan B.LEAGUE team captains recently shared what they valued as their team’s respective skippers as part of a joint partnership between the B.LEAGUE and upcoming Marvel movie Captain America: Brave New World.
On a social media post in late January, Ramos was featured in a promotional video for the new film, which premiers later this month.
There, the B.LEAGUE players were featured in a special short interview and talked about their experiences as captains on the court, a play on the movie’s title hero.
Ramos was the only Filipino player featured, with other B.LEAGUE teams having locals as their captains.
For Ramos, it was important that his team did everything as one unit, and it didn’t matter what the result was. No matter what, it was important for Ramos that his team was on the same page.
“Probably like, being together. Even if we’re doing the wrong thing, as long as we’re doing it together, it’s better than only a couple of people doing the right thing, and a couple of people doing the wrong thing,” Ramos said.
“So, as long as everybody’s together, I think that’s the most important [thing],” he added.
Ramos and the other captains were inserted into the film’s trailer, whereas the whole film will be released in Japan on February 14.
Ramos has been with the Levanga Hokkaido since 2022, and was named team captain just last year.
In 28 games this season, Ramos is averaging a career-high 11.1 points. Dwight is also going for 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and shooting a career-high 37.9 percent from three-point range.
